Ling & Sons welcomed the New Year with a nice celebration at Surf side Marina Wednesday night organized by its new owner Gerard Van den Tweel to thank all of his employees for their contribution to keeping the store's name as the #1 supermarket on the Island.
During his speech Gerard Van den Tweel expressed to be proud of his Ling & Sons team and assured everyone that at Ling & Sons the customer will always be #1.
He assured that Ling & Sons would keep its assortment as the customers have grown to love the store for its wide assortment of American, Local, Latin, European and Asian products and announced that the arrival of the new Dutch house brand Albert Heijn to the store is an added bonus to the store's already successful formula.
Aside from Gerard van Den Tweel's speech, the General Manager Wilfried Cobussen also surprised everyone with his speech in the local language, Papiamento. A language that is completely new to the General Manager but that he has been learning with great dedication to show to everyone that when you love your job nothing is impossible. After his speech everyone proceeded to the dance floor accompanied by the music of well-known musical group Rincon Boys who made sure everyone danced the night off.
