A Message from Ling & Sons Food Market

About the Coronavirus —
We're Here for Our Customers & Community

As Aruba’s trusted grocer, we’re here for our customers & community and want to be transparent in sharing with you the steps we’re taking to protect our community.

Like many, we have been following the rapidly evolving situation in the last few weeks and have already activated our protocol plan to ensure our customers and associates are protected and can continue to have access to fresh, affordable food and essentials without compromising our quality, service and or prices.

Our store teams are working to ensure that the food and cleaning supplies our customers need continue to reach our store as quickly as possible and are available.

As advised we’re following guidance from the DVG, Aruban government and other health organizations.

Here are the steps we’re taking to protect our customers and associates:

  • Cleaning commonly used areas more often, including cashier stations, ATM terminals, conveyor belts and food service counters, and cleaning shelves when restocking products.
  • Sanitizing restrooms more frequently and restocking with supplies, including soap, paper towels and hand sanitizer.
  • Adding hand sanitizer stations throughout our store, and food service counters
  • Wiping down shopping carts, baskets and equipment.
  • Infrared thermometer in store to measure the body temperature of customers and associates.
  • Continuing to provide our customers with free disinfectant wipes at our store entrances to sanitize their shopping carts or baskets.
  • Following best practices (HACCAP) for safe food handling, as always.

For Our Associates

·         Encouraging our associates to closely monitor their health and well-being.

·         Providing hand sanitizer and tissues in breakrooms and meeting rooms.

·         Asking our associates to stay home if they, or someone in their household, are sick or have travelled to affected areas recently.

·         Suspending business air travel to affected areas for associates

For Our Customers

·         Encouraging our customers to follow the DVG suggested hygiene practices to reduce the spread of the virus.

·         Recommending that our customers also practice safe food handling at home.

Throughout this process we will continue to strive to make decisions that are in best interest of the safety of our associates, customers and community.
